JESUS CHRIST EX MACHINA
It's finally happening! JESUS CHRIST EX MACHINA at the 2013 Mn Fringe Festival! Here's the synopsis!
Lost in a labyrinth and about to be devoured by a Minotaur, Theseus has only one shot at survival. But is he willing to do what God asks him?
Get your tickets! www.fringefestival.org
Somebody dropped out this morning and I got the slot! It's going to be great! Bring like 5 friends! I need to at least break even! Or just bring yourself. It's theatre! Nobody's making any money except Hugh Jackman and Ian McKellan. Meryl Streep when she feels like it. The rest of us are just doing it because we have to. Although famous actors have to as well I'm sure. I'm so tired. Does this blog make any sense? Who cares! I'M IN THE FRINGE!

Arctic Cat Commercial Work
Commercial work I did for an Arctic Cat snowmobiles advertising campaign. The first commercial below was aired on television. I also appeared in 9 mini web-isodes that were viewable online. Two examples of those follow.

Bucked by a Minotaur
Suburban Cowboy is at work on a new show. Just as "The Tragedy of Icarus" was rooted in Greek theatre style and conventions, so is this new as of yet untitled show. It features an actor, lost in a labyrinth that he himself created. Is it a real labyrinth or just a metaphor? Along his journey, the actor seeks help from an oracle who helps the actor figure out who he is so he is able to battle a Minotaur and destroy the labyrinth for good. The show is once again a musical. Songs include "Bring Me Back," "Freud," "Life in the Theatre," "The Architect," "Dionysus," and "Bucked by a Minotaur" which is also the title of the show. An Actual script has not been written yet but the songs are in very good shape. I'm not sure if this is a one man show or will need more actors. I will keep posting new information as it comes.

The Architect
Well, many things have changed since the last post. The name of my show is now called "The Architect" and I think I'm going to go it alone again. As in one man musical. My instrument this time will be a Mandolin. The show is influenced by Plato, Elvis, Greek Myth, Greek Theatre, The Bible, Bluegrass and probably a lot of other stuff that I can't think of right now. I'm going to try to get it into the fringe festival this summer. If I make in, see you there. Otherwise I'll be doing it your backyard.

The Tragedy of Icarus revival!
Joshua Larson is pleased to announce that The Tragedy of Icarus will be performed on the Riverland Community College stage January 14 and 15, 2011. Joshua is excited to ring in the new year on the stage where his love for theatre began many years ago. He thanks Jerry Girton for this exceptional opportunity and is looking forward to performing for friends, family and other Austinites. For those of you who were kind enough to attend the debut this summer at the 2010 Minnesota Fringe Festival, note that the Tragedy of Icarus has been expanded for this special performance with new songs and more drama.

The Tragedy of Icarus is an explosion of humorous and heart-rending characters including: a Dylanesque troubador who has been rejected by his audience, a British rocker who feels like a phony, and a retired country music superstar who returns to the stage after having a spiritual epiphany. Set in the landscape of a dream, this show is a rocking musical tribute to a brother lost. Written and performed by Joshua C. Larson.
